Overview of Value StreamsThe BC Bioenergy Network will focus its collaboration with stakeholders into three categories comprised of a total of eight value-streams: Forest Sector
Municipal Sector
Agriculture Sector
These value streams represent biomass inputs to which more than one conversion technology may apply; such as biochemical or thermochemical conversion, anaerobic digestion, aerobic decomposition, combustion, and densification. Stakeholders will include the primary users or beneficiaries of the projects and may include others in industry, academia, research, government and non-government organizations. Preference will be given to those projects which share economic and environmental information for the benefit of all BC stakeholders. It is anticipated in the vast majority of cases, the proponent’s intellectual property and sensitive commercial confidential information will remain with the proponent.
The BC Bioenergy Network intends to develop Collaborative Development and Demonstration Centres (“CDDC’s”) within each of these streams. These centres will be used to pilot and demonstrate technologies which can be replicated across the province. In most cases, these centres will involve a proponent, or owner of the project, who agrees to collaborate with a number of stakeholders interested in observing or participating in a collaborative project on a formal basis.
